Watson era underway at Norborne Hardin-Central

HARDIN – A new coaching era has begun with Norborne Hardin-Central’s varsity 8-man football program. Andrew Watson succeeds Kirk Thacker, now at Orrick, in leading the Aggies. It is his first varsity head coaching position. Before NHC, Watson served for three years at Crest Ridge, followed by two years at Lafayette County of Higginsville. At both schools, he was head junior high coach and an assistant varsity coach, he said. Watson is “super-excited” to coach the Aggies, he said Monday. The Aggies have had only one losing season since the co-op program began in 2015. “We (have) got a great group of kids,” Watson said. “They’ve been coming out, working really hard this summer.” That work ethic has been evident to Watson from watching the Aggies – and student-athletes in other sports – during summer weight training. More than 40 student-athletes for grades 7-12 are attending, he estimated. “Great numbers in the weight room,” Watson said. This week, Watson is watching his football…
