Trio of state qualifiers return for Spartans

To kick off his latest campaign as Richmond varsity boys and girls track coach, gave the Spartans a chance to show how far they could throw and how high they could jump. On the boys side, Nathan Nichols showed he could throw far enough to win two events at the season opener – a March 24 meet for field events only, hosted by Lawson. The senior threw 47.9 meters to win the javelin and won the shot put by throwing 13.7. Nichols was one of two Richmond boys champions. Junior Brice Dome won the triple jump by leaping 13.07. Karoline Dooley and Emma Hash were Richmond’s top girls finishers. Dooley, a junior, took second in the discus. Hash, a senior, finished third in the triple jump.
