Three items approved for November ballot
Three initiatives will appear on the Nov. 5 statewide ballot after a sufficient number of signatures were gathered, according to Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft.
Initiatives to appear on the ballot include sports wagering, reproductive health care, and minimum wage and earned paid sick time.
Each initiative needed to reach a minimum number of signatures in six of Missouri’s eight congressional districts. A third initiative to allow a new casino to be licensed on the Osage River did not make the ballot due to being short 2,031 valid signatures in the Second Congressional District. However, organizers are confident the minimum number of signatures will be provided early enought o appear on the November ballot.
Sports Wagering
The proposed constitutional amendment for sports wagering would give the Missouri Gaming Commission authority to regulate licensed sports wagering, which includes oversight of online sports betting, gambling boats, professional sports betting districts…
