Thanks to RMS, RHS v-ball participation is up, players ready
RICHMOND – Volleyball coach Madison Endsley will not have to worry about having enough players to field a varsity team.
Or a junior varsity team. Or a C team. As of Aug. 21, 32 girls in grades 9-12 went out for volleyball, Endsley said. That number, she said, is up from last season – her first season at Richmond.
“We only graduated two seniors and our freshman class is pretty big. … The middle school volleyball program has had a lot of kids come up, so we’re really excited,” Endsley said during an early morning practice at Sunrise Elementary School.
Middle school coaches Jessica Backs, Wendy Coldwell and Courtney Hardesty have helped develop that pipeline. Endsley sees the impact of Richmond’s middle school coaching on her crop of freshmen.
