For one moment, around 9:30 p.m. Oct. 7, the chaos of Spartan Stadium disappeared around Eli Steele. That moment was when Steele caught the game-winning pass for Richmond against visiting Holden. The Spartans faced second-and-10 at the Holden 46-yard line with 11.2 seconds to play. After taking the snap, senior quarterback Donivin Williams slipped to his left and heaved the football from midfield to Steele, who was open by a few yards at the 8. The senior caught the ball and sprinted for the goal line, diving into the end zone with 2.6 seconds left as Eagles senior defensive back Bryce Faust tackled him from behind.
