CHILLICOTHE – The Spartans have given Crystal Turner her first victory as Richmond’s varsity volleyball coach. After falling 2-0 to both Chillicothe and Excelsior Springs, Richmond swept Penney of Hamilton 2-0 Sept. 18 to cap play at the Chillicothe Tournament. On Monday, however, the Spartans fell 3-0 to visiting Lawson, putting them at 1-10. They were slated to finish the week with MRVC East Division matches Tuesday at Lexington and Thursday against visiting Lafayette County of Higginsville.
