Senior Jesse Doyle likes the direction Hardin-Central’s varsity boys basketball program is headed. One reason is August Hoeper, whose first season as head coach ended Feb. 24 with a 69-45 loss to Braymer in the Class 1 District 13 title game at Norborne. “He knows what he’s doing,” said Doyle, who paced the Bulldogs with 13 points, followed by Caleb Gant with 12. “He was really good when he played for Crest Ridge back when he was in high school, and he knows a lot about the sport and he knows how to teach people to play the sport.
