Richmond, H-C XC runners prep for districts at Platte City

Varsity runners at Richmond and Hardin-Central have one more race to run this cross country season. Or maybe two. On Saturday, both schools will compete at district competition at Platte Ridge Park in Platte City. Livia Cavanah and Isabelle Dooley, Richmond’s two varsity girls runners; and the Richmond boys team will compete in the Class 3 District 4 meet. Drew Hawkins, Hardin-Central’s lone varsity runner, will compete in the Class 1 District 4 meet. Like other cross country meets, each district meet will consist of two 3.1-mile races – one for girls, one for boys. The Richmond boys will run at 10:35 a.m. and the girls will run at 11:05. “Everybody’s times have been dropping and … (there have) been a lot of personal bests throughout the season, so I’m very interested to see how everybody performs this Saturday,” Richmond coach Jordan Graves said.
