Richmond High School graduate Trevon Alexander has been among the top receiver targets for Northwest Missouri State University’s quarterbacks to start the football season. Through three games, Alexander was leading the Maryville-based school in total receptions with 12 and was second on the team in receiving yards with 131. He also had the Bearcats’ lone receiving touchdown. His contributions included four catches for 29 yards during Northwest Missouri State’s 17-6 Sept. 16 road loss to Fort Hays (Kan.) State University. Alexander and his fellow Bearcats are 1-3 entering Saturday’s home meeting with Lincoln University (0-3, with a 29game losing streak). The Bearcats have won their last four meetings with the Blue Tigers and nine of the last 10.
