RICHMOND – Monday’s girls golf practice meant more than time spent chipping and putting to Richmond junior Kennedy Wrisinger. She reunited with fellow Spartans and Richmond coach Murray Dennis. Like other high school programs in Missouri, Richmond first practice of the season occurred Monday. The Spartans focused on short-game issues on their home turf, Shirkey Golf Course. The first day went well, Wrisinger said. “I love being back here (at Shirkey) with my teammates,” she said. “We always have a good time and have good conversations, it seems like. We motivate each other when we’re all together. I know we … (didn’t) get to play a lot this summer just because we had our own summer jobs and other things going on, so it’s nice to be all back together – and with Coach Dennis, of course.” Wrisinger finished in a three-way tie for 38th at the 2020 Class 1 state tournament.
