WINNING STREAK Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) is carrying a winning streak into postseason play in varsity softball.
The Aggies finished the regular season 11-7, taking their last seven ballgames. That stretch included two wins this week, both at Norborne. On Monday, NHC edged Polo 10-9. The Aggies then crushed the Brunswick/Keytesville/ Northwestern of Mendon co-op 16-1 Tuesday.
NHC will begin postseason play next week in the Class 1 District 6 Tournament at Brunswick. The second-seeded Aggies are set to open the singleelimination tournament Oct. 15 against seventhseeded Polo. The winner will advance to the semifinals, scheduled for Oct. 16.
GRIND-IT-OUT FOOTBALL
Orrick varsity 8-man football coach Matt O’Dell probably isn’t expecting much passing when the Bearcats and Sweet Springs meet Friday night at Sweet Springs.
