‘PHENOMENAL DAY’ A school track and field record has fallen at Orrick. On April 16, senior Anela Fletcher broke the girls long jump record at the Carrollton Combo Invitational with her event-winning jump of 5.27 meters. “She had a phenomenal day,” Seth Smith, Orrick coach and activities director, stated Tuesday via email. Fletcher also won the 200-meter dash in 30.46 seconds and was one of two Bearcats to win two events. Junior Addison Chapman won the 300 low hurdles and the triple jump. Orrick’s boys champions included Levi Fielder and Logan Dennis, who won the 400 and triple jump, respectively. “Logan had another consistent day in the triple jump,” Smith stated. Dennis’ first-place finish followed a win in the same event April 15 at the Delbert Best Invitational at Odessa, hosted by Wellington-Napoleon. Jeff Rohde was Orrick’s other boys champion at Odessa, leaping 5.81 to take the long jump. Chapman was the lone Orrick girls champion, winning the 300 hurdles. The Bearcats…
