‘GOOD NIGHTS’ Latimer Cavanah and Landon Garrett “both had good nights” for Richmond Jan. 17 at a freshman wrestling tournament at Staley High School in Kansas City, according to Richmond coach Cody Hogan. Cavanah’s night was so good, in fact, that he won the 106-pound division title. He capped his championship run with a 22-9 major decision over Liberty’s Aden Hendricks. Garrett’s night went well enough that he secured a sixth-place finish at 285. His tournament run ended with a loss by second-period pin to Kearney’s Karter Pogue in the fifth-place match. “Landon has been wrestling really smart and tough,” Hogan stated Monday via email. “Being a freshman at heavyweight isn’t easy, but he is stepping up to the challenge and handling himself.” In other Richmond wrestling news, the varsity boys team went 1-2 in a Jan. 14 quadrangular at Carrollton. The Spartans edged the host school 39-38, but fell to Moberly 47-32 and Chillicothe 37-36. “The quad in Carrollton was not our best…
