ROAD WARRIORS Richmond varsity basketball coach Kevin Jermain and his Spartans are hitting the road for a few weeks. The Spartans were slated to begin their string of away games Thursday against Crest Ridge at the Ketcham Community Center in Trenton in Holiday Hoops action – their last game of 2023. They’re scheduled to open 2024 Jan. 5 at Pleasant Hill. The Spartans will then play in the Lawson Invitational, set for Jan. 8-13. After that, they have non-tournament games scheduled Jan. 16 at Sweet Springs, Jan. 18 at Polo and Jan. 19 at Missouri River Valley Conference-East Division rival Lexington before hosting their Winter Classic Jan. 22-27. Richmond enters the road swing after a three-game homestand. The Spartans opened the homestand with a loss to Summit Christian Academy, a Lee’s Summit-based private school, then posted back-to-back divisional wins, defeating Holden and then Carrollton. 50 BURGERS Richmond served up two 50 burgers for its final two varsity boys wrestling…
