Sanders, a Class 1 state champion at 157 pounds last season, also surpassed 100 career wins, Hogan stated Monday via email. The senior capped his tournament by pinning Marshall’s Mason Evans 1 minute, 2 seconds into the 165 championship match.
Happy “controlled all of his opponents” in taking the 106 title, according to Hogan. And Hutchings “beat a tough kid in the finals” at 138, he stated. That “tough kid” was Butler’s Damian Alkire, whom Hutchings edged with a 3-1 decision.
