For two-plus weeks, Richmond has been on a roll in varsity softball. 

The Spartans have won six of eight since Sept. 21, putting them at 12-12 overall entering a tournament Saturday, Oct. 9, at Benton of St. Joseph. They won five straight, defeating Knob Noster, Lexington, Summit Christian Academy of Lee's Summit, Lafayette County of Higginsville and Cameron. After falling 1-0 Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Holden and then 6-5 at Carrollton in the completion of a suspended game, Richmond defeated Holden 3-1 Thursday, Oct. 7, at Southview Park.
