Winston spoiled Hardin-Central's bid for a fourth straight Opening Day win. 

The Bulldogs kept it close until the late innings when they faced the Red Birds Monday, Aug. 30, at Hardin American Legion and Auxiliary Park, falling 7-2. They had defeated St. Pius X of Kansas City to start 2018, followed by back-to-back Opening Day wins over Winston before their streak ended.
