ALMA – Orrick quickly got back to its winning ways in varsity boys basketball.

After falling 58-48 Monday to visiting Lexington in non-conference play, the Bearcats cruised to a 55-26 win Tuesday at Santa Fe in I-70 Conference action. As the Orrick R-XI School District stated on its Facebook page, the Bearcats outscored the Chiefs 14-6 the first quarter. Orrick then outscored the Chiefs 16-9 the second quarter, broke it open with a 16-4 third quarter and edged Santa Fe 9-7 the final quarter.

The Orrick boys, 6-4 overall, have won four of their last five entering Friday’s non-conference road meeting with Tina-Avalon.

In other Orrick basketball news, the Orrick varsity girls seek their first win this season Friday. Like the boys, they play at Tina-Avalon.

Like the Orrick boys, this is the Orrick girls’ third game this week. They fell 48-42 Monday to Lexington and 50-10 to Santa Fe Tuesday.
