HARDIN – The Aggies’ winning streak against Kansas City East Christian is over.
On Aug. 27, Norborne Hardin-Central fell to KCEC 28-22 at Hardin-Central. The season-opening loss put the Aggies at 6-1 for the series. Games against the Lions played by Norborne or Hardin-Central before the Missouri Highway 10 schools launched their 8-man football co-op in 2015 are not counted.
On the opening possession, it appeared meeting No. 7 would follow the script of the previous six. Quarterback Kobe Gibson tossed a 50-yard pass to Peyton Meierer to set up Gibson’s 3-yard TD run and two-point conversion run with 9 minutes, 55 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
“Probably one of the best (times) we ran that play all night and it just worked out well,” Watson said Monday. “(Gibson) put the ball in the right place and allowed Peyton to get down the field.”
