HIGGINSVILLE – Richmond’s 62-42 loss to Hogan Prep Academy Dec. 10 in the Husker Classic boys championship game provided Richmond coach Kevin Jermain another reminder that many of his Spartans are still getting used to new responsibilities. “It looked like we had one player that was used to scoring in big games and a bunch of guys that were used being facilitators in big games,” Jermain said. “And … that’s just the transition we’re going to have to go through throughout the season – … having guys that are comfortable stepping up into new positions.” The big-game scorer Jermain referred to was probably Jack Gogue. The senior paced the Richmond hoopsters with 22 points and was the lone Spartan in double figures. Donivin Williams, also a senior, nearly reached double figures with nine points. “We just have a lot of new players stepping into new roles, and we have to figure out what those (roles) are and be ready to score points,” Williams said.
