Homecoming king helps Aggies reign over ’Cats
Kalel Bowman received at least two presents the night of Sept. 20.
First, there was the gift of a 4620 win by Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) over Missouri Highway 10 rival Orrick. Minutes after that victory at Hardin-Central, the senior was crowned homecoming king for Hardin-Central. Norborne and Hardin-Central held their coronation ceremonies together, but each school had a homecoming king and queen.
Bowman “was hyped for homecoming,” he said. Typically, he plays better in homecoming games, he said.
As for homecoming 2024, Bowman’s opinion of his performance was mixed.
“I slacked off on offense, but I got a blitz on defense, so that was fun,” he said.
Bowman’s other contributions on defense included a team-leading 12 tackles – four of them for losses. Other defensive contributors included Brody Fifer, a Hardin-Central sophomore, who led the Aggies with three takeaways.
