Last week, Hardin-Central coach Tommy Burton and Richmond coach Kaylee Vantrump continued their friendship and helped their respective programs prepare for the 2025-26 high school varsity girls basketball season. They did so by holding joint summer practices. Activities included skills drills and some scrimmaging between Richmond and Hardin-Central. Burton oversaw the first session, held June 17. “I wanted to run an ordinary practice, with minimal changes,” he stated Monday via email. “We focused on the basic fundamentals: dribbling, passing and shooting.” Vantrump led the second session, held June 19. Both sessions took place at Hardin-Central.
