Dooley ties for 28th, Spartans 10th at districts

On Oct. 5 at Hidden Valley Golf Course in Lawson, Karoline Dooley got her first taste of playing in a district girls golf tournament. The Richmond first-year high schooler plans to use that taste to whet her appetite for playing in future tournaments, particularly postseason tournaments. And for playing golf in general. “I’d like to make it to state the next three years and just continue to work on my game all summer and all winter, so I can be ready for next season,” Dooley said. Dooley led the Richmond girls at the Class 2 District 4 Tournament, shooting a 108 (+36) for the 18-hole, par-72 round. In tying Lawson’s Makynzee Hubbard for 28th, she narrowly missed the cut for the Class 2 state tournament. The top two teams and 13 individual finishers not on those teams advanced – 22 total golfers.
