’Dawgs win eighth straight
and his Bulldogs were still undefeated entering this week’s games.
The Bulldogs were 8-0 entering their meeting Tuesday night with visiting Polo and looking to match the program’s best start since 2013-14, when Hardin-Central started 9-0 and went on to finish 21-6 – the second of three straight 20-win seasons.
“Being 8-0 feels great, but we still have a lot of season left,” Hoeper stated Tuesday afternoon via email. “This is only the beginning of a special year with this group of kids. We just need to continue to stay together throughout the season.”
Those eight wins included a 66-44 Dec. 15 road win over Northwestern of Mendon. Kameron Pugh and Brody Fifer led the Bulldogs to the victory with 19 and 13 points, respectively.
Hardin-Central kept an eight- to 10-point cushion the first half, Hoeper stated.
