KANSAS CITY – Dustin Colquitt will no longer wear a Kansas City Chiefs uniform.

The veteran punter has been released after 15 seasons with the Chiefs, the team stated Tuesday in a news release.

“My family and I are immensely grateful for the contributions Dustin and his family have made to the Chiefs over the last 15 years,” Clark Hunt, chairman and CEO, stated. “Dustin has cemented his place as one (of the) greatest punters in the history of the NFL.”

Selected by the Chiefs as a third-round 2005 draft pick, Colquitt is the team record-holder for most regular-season games played, 238. His other team records include per-punt average, 44.8 yards; and most punts downed inside the opponent’s 20-yard line, 462 – third on the NFL’s all-time leaderboard.

Colquitt’s other contributions included two punts during Kansas City’s Super Bowl LIV victory in February over San Francisco – both during the first half. His first punt was a 49-yarder in the first quarter. The second was a 51-yarder in the second quarter that ended in a touchback.
