Boys team, Gibson potential title contenders at Hardin-Central
HARDIN – Varsity coach Kirk Thacker sees championship potential in his Hardin-Central boys team.
The roster includes former members of the junior high program that won two straight Carroll-Livingston Activities Association boys championships, Thacker said March 1.
“This group could make a run again – and that’s what we want,” he said. “We want to make a run at conference, we want to make a run at (our) district, and then we want to get some state qualifiers down there (to Jefferson City).”
Potential boys state individual qualifiers include junior Mason Freece, who qualified last fall for the Class 1 state cross county meet, placing 92nd. Freece might qualify as a relay runner.
“We could get … a couple relays down (there) possibly,” Thacker said. “We have some pretty good runners.”
