‘Awesome’ jamboree pumps up NHC’s Watson

HARDIN – New Norborne Hardin-Central varsity coach Andrew Watson found reasons to be upbeat about the coming 8-man football season after the Aggies’ preseason jamboree Aug. 20 at Braymer. “The energy was awesome,” Watson said. “They were flying around. They felt like they had something to prove. … A lot of people have been doubting them with … a new coaching staff and losing some guys. … So, they came out with a mission to prove that there’s still Aggie football and they can prove that. … I thought they did a great job at that.” The Aggies kick off their season Friday by facing Kansas City East Christian at Hardin-Central. They have yet to lose to the Lions since launching their coop program in 2015. The most recent meeting was in 2020, when the Aggies rolled 70-28 en route to a 6-4 season.
