Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor, Compared to the past, I have engaged minimally in politics for the last five years. Not that I didn’t have a preference (I do), but I came to the realization politics is limited and it will not be the salvation of America.
That limitation is so very clear at this time. Christians and non-Christians alike have fooled ourselves into believing this country can function “as normal” with or without God – as if He is merely the cherry on top. But our very broad, God-given liberties – the right to worship, speak freely, peaceably assemble and bear arms – demand a disciplined, self-reliant and keenly moral citizenry. Founder John Adams went so far as to say “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
