Thomas Dean “Nick” Ford

Thomas Dean “Nick” Ford, 79, of Richmond, died Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. 

Nick was born on September 5, 1942, in Carrollton, the son of Leroy and Eva May (Chenowith) Ford.  He was united in marriage to Angie Lvonne McLallen of Richmond on December 23, 1967; she survives of the home. 

Additional survivors include: son, Clinton D. Ford of Tularosa, NM; daughter, Tracey J. (Jay) Sim of Holton, KS; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers: Marty, Mike, David, and Ronnie; and sister, Vicky. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jerry Ford, four brothers, Don, Duke, Jack, and Steve, and two sisters, Kay and Krista. 

Nick was reared and educated in the area of his birth.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1961 to 1967.  Nick worked for the Ford Motor Company for 30 years and retired in 1998.  He was a proud member of the United Auto Worker’s Union #249.  Nick also worked for the Rural Water District in Ray County as an inspector.  He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW in Richmond.  Nick enjoyed restoring cars, fishing, and traveling. 

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Shirkey Hospice or the Ray County Veterans.  They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
