Terry Smith
Aug. 10, 1964-Aug. 18, 2024 Terry Dale Smith, 60, passed away Aug. 18, 2024, at North Kansas City Hospital. Born Aug. 10, 1964, Terry was a lifelong resident of the Hardin, Richmond and Lexington areas. A 1982 graduate of Hardin Central High School, Terry was a member of the 1980 Hardin-Central Class 1A state championship 11-man football team, a period he often recalled with great fondness and pride.
He worked in the construction and electrical fields. He was known for his strong work ethic.
Terry is remembered by his family and friends for his kind, caring nature.
He leaves behind his son, Chance Smith of Lexington; stepfather, Homer Lollar and wife Carol of Richmond; and sisters, Diana Rodenberg and husband Gilbert of Kearney, Glenda Carter and husband Jeff of Richmond, Karen Brown of Liberty and Amanda Smith of Las Vegas, Nev.
Other survivors include his brother, Mike Smith and wife Marge of Platte City; stepsister, Cindy Kolkmeyer and husband Ron of Morrisville; stepbrother, Phillip Lollar and wife Sherri of Buckner; his longtime friend, Tiffany of Lexington; along with many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Dale Smith of Excelsior Springs; and mother, Elizabeth Lollar of Richmond.
A service to celebrate Terry’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Richmond Christian Chapel, 801 Wollard Blvd. Attendees are invited to join the family for lunch in the church fellowship hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the NorthCare Hospice House at North Kansas City Hospital in memory of Terry.
Terry’s kindness and warm spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
