Susan Miller

Susan Marie Miller, 84, of Richmond passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at her home. Susan was born Aug. 19, 1939, in Salina, Kan., the daughter of Carl and Georgina (Freeby) Pasternak. She was united in marriage to Donald L. Miller of Oklahoma City on Nov. 3, 1957. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include her sister, Ellen Boyd of Independence, Kan.; brother-in-law, Cliff Johns of Independence, Kan.; two grandchildren, Brad Adams and Trina Miller, both of Richmond; three great-grandchildren, Dylan (Mackenna) Caldwell, Jocelyn Caldwell (Cody Guthrie) and Alyssa Caldwell, all of Richmond; and grandson-in-law, Chad Caldwell of Richmond.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Boyd Wayne Miller; infant son; daughter, Janeen Marie Adams; brother, Carl Pasternak; and sister, Patricia Johns.

Susan was reared and educated in the area of her birth, and graduated with the class of 1956 from Salina High School. She was a carhop at A&W Root Beer, where she met the love of her life, and they were married in 1957. Don and Susan were married for 66 years until death departed them.

She was an avid member of the 10th Church of Christ Scientist in Kansas City. Susan enjoyed writing letters, going to family reunions and visiting her sisters. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Services and inurnment will be held at a later date by the family. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.
