Shelley Lee (Taloney) Rogers, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Feb. 4, 2026, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, surrounded by her loving family.
Shelley’s life was scheduled to be celebrated with a visitation 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, followed by a funeral service at 11:30, at the First Baptist Church,, located at 525 S. Business Highway 13, Lexington. Following the service, Shelley was to be laid to rest at Lexington Memory Gardens.

She was born April 20, 1959, in Altus, Okla., to Charles and Delpha (Bersano) Taloney. Shelley was raised in a military family, which instilled in her the values of dedication, strength and perseverance that would carry her through life.
Shelley graduated from Richmond High School, where her warm, welcoming spirit began to blossom into the loving person that many came to know and adore. Phillip, her husband, saw that the moment they met on a night out with friends. They married shortly thereafter on Oct. 24, 1981, in Richmond.
For more than 20 years, Shelly devoted her career to Walmart, serving proudly in human resources.
Her family held a special place in Shelley’s heart. Being a mother and grandmother were among her proudest accomplishments, and she never missed an opportunity to shower her loved ones with affection.
Shelley and her husband Phillip shared a deep bond, rooted in love and companionship. Together, they created countless memories, especially during their cherished moments spent at Truman Lake.
Shelley is survived by her husband, Phillip Rogers of Higginsville; and son, Chad Rogers (Brook) of Richmond.
Other survivors include her grandchildren: Avery Rogers, Taylee Rogers, Jace Bertz-Rogers, Cayden Bertz (Kyndal), Kobi Bartley, Taber Bartley and Leann Drake. She also is survived by her great-grandchildren: Mackson Bertz, Collins Bertz, Leah Bertz, Barrett Bertz and Maeve Bartley, whom Shelley was ready and blessed to add to her family this month.
Her sister, Christy Drake (Tommy) of Lexington; and brother, Charles Randall Taloney (Dana) of Lexington, survive as well.
Shelley will be fondly remembered by many other cherished family members and loving friends.
Shelley was preceded in death by her children, Robert Michael Rogers and Kelli Lee Rogers, as well as her loving parents, Charles Taloney and Delpha Lee (Bersano) Taloney.
