Sharon Kay (Barnett) Strain, 78, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, at Silverado Care Community in Lee’s Summit.

Visitation was scheduled for 10-11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 Second St., Odessa. A funeral service was scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, at the funeral home. Interment was to be in the Floral Hills Cemetery in Kansas City. Memorials are suggested to the Heart of America Alzheimer’s Association. Sharon was born June 16, 1946, in Warrensburg to Billy M. and Helen M. (Haggard) Barnett.

She graduated in 1964 from Odessa High School. On Sept. 10, 1966, Sharon was united in marriage to Gary Louis Williams at Elm Springs Baptist Church in Kingsville. He preceded her in death on May 28, 1977.

Sharon worked for Western Electric in Lee’s Summit, the Odessa R-7 School District as a teacher’s aide and secretary, and retired from State Farm Insurance in Independence.

On July 1, 1994, Sharon was united in marriage to James Allen Strain. After retirement, Sharon helped James full time at his company, SeAirlan World Tours in Hardin. He preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 2021.

In addition to spending time with family and friends, Sharon enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, scrapbooking, cooking, flower gardening and hosting family events.

Sharon is survived by two sons, Dan (Lindsay Gray) Williams of Live Oak, Texas, and Greg (Kim) Williams of Odessa; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Mary Jo) Barnett of Wooster, Ohio; and many relatives and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and husbands.
