Sharon Frances (Mines) Richards, 81, of Richmond, MO, went peacefully to be with her lord at NorthCare Hospice House, North Kansas City, MO, on October 27, 2022. Sharon was born in Sedalia, MO June 1941 to Harry and Clara (Hoff) Mines. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Dean Richards. Other surviving family members are her son, Joel (Kristy) Richards of Richmond, MO, daughter Dianne (Chris) McGuire, Hardin, MO, and daughter Jill (Joyce Knight) Richards of Richmond, MO. Grandchildren Justin Richards and Jared Richards, Richmond, MO, Stevan McGuire, Bois D’Arc, MO, and Brianne McGuire, Kansas City, MO. Great grandchildren Jonathan and Jasper Richards and Elijah McGuire. Sharon loved her family and extended family dearly and would do anything for them. She enjoyed working at Economy Drug in Richmond for several years and made life-long friendships with her co-workers along the way. She liked to travel but was apprehensive about flying. So many road trips by car and motorcycle were taken over the years. Dean and Sharon loved to dance, whether it be square dance, the 2-step, or the jitterbug. They were wonderful to watch. She enjoyed being involved in the Ray County Fair and never missed the demolition derby, which was her favorite event. Growing up in Sedalia also meant the Missouri State Fair was never missed either regardless of where she lived. Sharon liked to watch game shows and work word puzzles. She said it kept her mind alert. She enjoyed a good margarita every now and then as well. Fall colors, late 50’s rock and roll and country music were also some of her favorite things. A celebration of Sharon’s life will take place on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Skiles Event Center, 39735 Business 10 HWY, Richmond, MO, from 2P-4P. Interment will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Business Hwy 13, Higginsville, MO at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to NorthCare Hospice House, North Kansas City, MO, 2800 Clay Edwards Drive, 2nd Floor, North Kansas City, MO 64116.
