Ruby Lucile (Spidle) Anderson

Ruby Lucile (Spidle) Anderson, 93, passed away on April 29, 2021, in Excelsior Springs.

She was born on Jan. 26, 1928, in Breckenridge. She was the oldest of eight children to Samuel Samson and Ruby Morsa (Suter) Spidle.

She was a 1945 graduate of Breckenridge High School. She taught at New Garden School in Excelsior Springs for one year.

Robert L. (Bob) Anderson and Lucile met when they both worked at the Ball Clinic in Excelsior Springs. They lived between the Lawson and Lathrop communities during their married life of almost 65 years. Bob passed away on June 13, 2013.

Bob and Lucile were active members of the Lawson United Methodist Church. They had two children: Nancy Lucile Danner, who survives; and Robert Thomas, who passed away Feb. 21, 2019.

Other survivors include: a daughter-in-law, Katie Anderson of Ash Grove; two sisters, Maxine Lewis of Rocky Ford, Colorado, and Laleen Hilter of Alexandria, Minnesota; four sisters-in-law, June Spidle of Liberty, Dessa Spidle of Lindale, Texas, Fran Spidle of Watertown, Tennessee, and Helen Anderson of Lawson; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, at Bross-Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs. Funeral was at 2, followed by burial in Converse Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Lawson United Methodist Church or Preferred Hospice.
