Mark Curtis Menke, 65, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at AdventHealth Shawnee, surrounded by his family.

He was born Jan. 28, 1955, the son of Elmer and Mary Jane Menke in Eugene, Oregon. Mark graduated from Richmond High School in 1974. He retired from the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in 2016 after 34 years. He enjoyed going to the casinos, watching NASCAR and the Chiefs, and fishing with family. He attended Life.Church Overland Park and loved serving in the Thursday morning group.

Mark is survived by his loving partner of 25 years, Claudia Gould; two sons, Jerry Menke (Amanda) and Jeremy Menke (JayLynn); five grandchildren, Milee, Makinze, Jaxen, Jyler and Tatum; and two siblings, Patricia Hall (Randy) and David Menke (Diana). He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Michael and Daniel Menke.

A graveside visitation will be held at 11:30 a.m. with services beginning at noon Friday, June 12, 2020, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Menke, Jeremy Menke, David Menke and Mark’s grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
