Lois was born on October 19, 1937, in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Frank LeRoy and Roxie Ella (Jefferson) Paterson.  She was united in marriage to Anthony Holms Holt of Clay County on March 8, 1959; he survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: son, James Clifford Holt (Ruth Gene) of Wood Heights; three grandchildren: Shanna Marie Tait, Clint Holt (Aquina), and Katherine Snyder (Travis); four great-grandchildren: Alyssa Mormino, Hunter Tait, August Holt, and Ella Holt; twin brother, Louis Raymond Paterson (Kathy) of Warsaw; and step-brother, Bill Gene Bradley of Pensacola, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-brother, Jim Hurt.

Lois moved to Excelsior Springs in 7th grade and graduated from the Excelsior Springs High School.  She worked for the Excelsior Springs Hospital for 20 years and retired as a surgical technician.  Lois did some training at Research Hospital in Kansas City.  Lois had a wonderful positive attitude; she never complained.  She was quick witted and a role model as a mother.  She loved all her family and grandkids and great-grandkids; she was a great grandmother to them.  She was a great mother-in-law.  Lois was a Kansas City Chiefs fan, a good cook, enjoyed fishing, she liked flowers, had a green thumb, and could grow anything.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the American Lung Association or the charity of your choice.  They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
