Kyla Jean Pugh
Kyla Jean Pugh, 44, of Higginsville, formerly of Hardin, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Mosaic Medical Center in St. Joseph.
Kyla was born on October 11, 1977, in Richmond, the daughter of Kenneth “Wayne” and Carolyn Rose (Oyler) Pugh.
Survivors include: brother, Kevin Wayne (April) Pugh of Hardin; three nephews: Korbin Wayne Pugh, Kameron Walker Pugh, and Kolt Dilyn Pugh; aunts and uncles: Donald Wayne (Sandy) Oyler, David Lee Oyler, James Michael (Ella) Oyler, Faye Pugh, Jeanne Anne (Steve) Pulliam, Janet Louise (Kenny) McNelly, and Catherine Joan (Ronald) Sadler; special friends, Don (June) Blankenship, many cousins, and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Kenneth Atch and Ethel (Templeton) Pugh, Vernon Wayne and Wilma (Ellis) Oyler; uncles, Samuel W. Pugh and Richard Allen “Rick” Oyler, and aunt, Sheila Oyler.
Kyla was reared and educated in the area of her birth. She graduated from Rolling Meadows State School in Higginsville. Kyla worked for Shelter Services in both Ray and Lafayette counties. She loved playing games, especially Connect Four and Uno. Kyla liked watching basketball. She especially enjoyed birthday parties, family dinners and get togethers. Christmas and Thanksgiving were always special times for the family. She knew who her Lord and Savior was and enjoyed attending church. Her favorite food was cheeseburgers and chocolate shakes. Kyla liked to go on golfcart and car rides. She had a special relationship with her brother who was always there for her. Kyla’s personality could light up a room.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Hardin First Baptist Church or New Hope Cemetery. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
Visitation with memorial services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at New Hope Church, north of Hardin with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. with services to follow at 10:30 A.M. Inurnment will follow services in the New Hope Cemetery. Thurman Fuenral Home in Richmond is in charge of arrangements.
