Feb. 19, 1941 ~ Dec. 11, 2023 Judith Ann Loyd, 82, of rural Orrick passed away Dec. 11, 2023, at the Aspire Nursing Center in Excelsior Springs.

Judith was born Feb. 19, 1941, to John Stephens and Jesse Ruth Dovenspike.

On May 24, 1958, she was united in marriage to Bobby G. Loyd. He Judith Loyd

preceded her in death in July 2016.

On top of being a mother and homemaker, Judith worked outside the home as a production worker for Whittaker Cable Corp. in Excelsior Springs.

Judith loved drinking her coffee, especially with her sister. She loved soap operas and she loved to play bingo and go to the boats. Judith was good at cooking and enjoyed cooking, and being with her kids and grandkids as much as she could. She also loved her dog, Daisy. Judith was particular about keeping her yard clean and mowed. She always had a pretty lawn.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby G. Loyd, in July 2016; brothers, John, Allen and Roy Stephens; and sisters, Mary Nichols, Betty Reyburn and Shirley Warren.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Sharon McAdams (and Russ) and Tammy O’Dell (and Mark), all of Excelsior Springs; and sons, Robert Loyd (Linda) and David Loyd, all of Orrick. She also is survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Judith was held noon-1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick. Funeral services followed at 1:30 Monday, also at the funeral home. Burial was at the New Hope Cemetery, located southwest of Richmond.
