Joy Marie (Kenney) Dunwoodie
Joy Marie (Kenney) Dunwoodie, 80, of Richmond, formerly of Blue Springs and Kansas City, passed away on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, at Ignite Medical Resort of Blue Springs.
Joy was born on April 15, 1941, in Chariton, IA, the daughter of William B. and Alice E. Kenney.
Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Dunwoodie of Richmond; son, Stephen Wyse of Columbia; two daughters, Brenda (Norman) Hughes of Blue Springs and Laura (Tom) Scheinder of Avondale, AZ; two stepchildren, Erin Mathews of Cameron and Bobby Dunwoodie of Richmond; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two nephews; and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frederick B. and Frank R. Kenney; sister, Ruth Alyce Gregory; and two nephews, Frederick E. and Donnie L. Kenney.
Joy went to Elkhorn School in Wood Heights. She worked at the Apple Orchards briefly at Lake City State Army Ammunition, Higginsville State School, and was a homemaker. Joy had a great interest in the law, which inspired her son Stephen to pursue a career as an attorney.
