Joseph Wayne Isgriggs, 64, of Richmond died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, at North Kansas City Hospital.

Joseph was born on May 21, 1956, in Ironton, the son of Howard Wayne Isgriggs and Reba (Gibson) Isgriggs. He was united in marriage to Donna Jeanine Burnham of Sedalia on Sept. 19, 1982. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: his father, Howard Wayne Isgriggs of Belgrade; two sons, Joshua W. Isgriggs (Brittany) of Richmond and Caleb J. Isgriggs of Richmond; two daughters, Jill M. DiVirgilio (Aaron) of Cypress, Texas, and Freedom Beashore (Ryan) of Overland Park, Kansas; two sisters, Cherilynn Pirtle (David) of Burleson, Texas, and Carole Garth (Tom) of Kansas City; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother; sister, Shelba Isgriggs; and grandson, Mason Isgriggs.

Joseph graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia. When he was 26 years old, he met his wife while attending State Fair Community College in Sedalia. They went on to create a loving family. Many lasting memories were made every day.

Joseph graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electronics from the University of Central Missouri and then studied biblical language at Midwest Baptist Theological Seminary, where he extensively studied Hebrew and Aramaic.

He was the associate and youth pastor for four years at Lincoln First Baptist Church.

He was a man of many interests and could fix anything. He enjoyed making people laugh and loved people. He had a great compassion for children and lived to make others smile.

Visitation and funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 2, at Bethel Mennonite Church, with the visitation beginning at 10 a.m., followed by the services at 11. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery.
