Jim also leaves behind his mother, Margaret “Ann” King of Orrick; two sons, James Michael King of Liberty and Timothy Arch King of Richmond; two grandsons, Hunter James King and Aiden Michael King; and four brothers, Michael Arch (Sheryl) King, Larry Lee (Inga) King, Terry Kurtis King and Floyd Kent King, all of Orrick

He was preceded in death by his father, Arch Ellis King.

Jim was reared and educated in the area of his birth and graduated from Orrick High School in 1973. During high school, he was active in all sports and his mother said he was a little on the ornery side.

Jim enjoyed working part time for area farmers while in high school. He worked almost 40 years for Westfall GMC, starting as a mechanic and finishing as parts manager. He worked at two of their locations, Rapid Ways in Kansas City, Missouri; and Freightliner in Kansas City, Kansas.

Jim enjoyed fishing and liked tinkering in his garage. With his family, he enjoyed going on four-wheeler vacations to different parks. The family has many fond memories of their four-wheeling days. He was especially fond of his grandsons and enjoyed swimming with them in their backyard pool. Jim was his boys’ biggest fan when they were in sports as Orrick Bearcats. You could always hear Jim over the crowd cheering on the team. He was a member of the Orrick Christian Church.
