James Pease
James (Jim) Pease, 79, of Walla Walla, Wash., passed away Feb. 12, 2024, at Miranda’s Home Care. Jim was born Aug. 12, 1944, in Leon, Iowa, to Wayne and Lenore Pease. He attended Oklahoma Christian College in Edmond, Okla., graduating in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree in social studies and communication. Later, he completed master’s and specialist’s degrees in secondary education administration. He worked as a high school social studies and speech teacher in Leon, and as a high school teacher and administrator in Richmond until his retirement in 2000.
He married Diane Miller on July 30, 1983. In 2002, the family moved to Walla Walla, where he started a career at Windermere Real Estate, retiring again in 2015.
Jim enjoyed singing in a country music band, coaching students for public speaking competitions, traveling, reading, bowling and raising his family of four sons.
He was a member of Christian Fellowship Ministries in Richmond and Life Church in Walla Walla.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother; father; sister and brother-in-law, Jeannie and Don Sheridan; sisters-inlaw, Lola Miller and Debbie Miller; and grandson, Jack Pease.
He is survived by his wife Diane; brother and sisterin- law, Tom and Pam Pease; nephew, Matthew (Becca) Sheridan; and four sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel, Joshua and Chloe, Andrew, and Johnny and Morgan. Other survivors include his grandchildren, Jude, Rosie, Eloise, Georgia and Marlowe Pease; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. June 1 at Life Church, 611 S. Ninth Ave. in Walla Walla. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Walla Walla Hospice at 1067 E. Isaacs Ave., Walla Walla, WA 99362: or Life Church at 611 S. Ninth Ave., Walla Walla, WA 99362.
