Jack Smith Hayson, 84, of Orrick Missouri passed away on August 28, 2021 at his home. His wife Peggy was by his side as he journeyed to his final Home accompanied by her tears, the Lord's Prayer and his faithful dog Watson lying under his bed.

Jack was born February 10, 1937, eldest son of Frank and Marjorie Hayson. He was previously married to Freda Ralston (deceased) and was the father of Jack W. and Gail D. (Don) Fernandez, both of Richmond Missouri. He married Carolyn Lewis (deceased) and was the father of Racheal D. Hayson. He married Peggy Youtsey on February 29, 1996, and was stepfather to her daughter Rebecca Stewart of Payson Arizona. Peggy survives at the home.

Jack was a nervous grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Although shy in their presence, he was full of pride upon hearing their accomplishments. Especially so when his eldest grandson served in the Marine Corps.

Jack's life was a combination of joys and tragedies. He faced them all with character, wit, wisdom, faith and forgiveness.

Jack once claimed to be mildly talented and deeply flawed. His wife Peggy found him to be quite talented and his only flaws to be his politics and his tendency to not listen during their home remodel several years ago.

Jack requested that no stranger give his funeral address and this request was granted by his brother-in-law, Don Barton, who gave the eulogy. Jack also requested his service conclude with the Lord's Prayer  and "make them say the one with trespasses, not the one with debtors." This request was obeyed with smiles and tears.

Jack was inurned with military honors at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Higginsville on September 27, 2021.
