Imogene Buchanan

Imogene Buchanan 93, a native of Rockingham and resident of Richmond passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021. She was born on June 18, 1928, the daughter of Rawley and Angie (Keim) Sandy. She was united in marriage to William Buchanan of Hardin on January 19, 1947, he preceded her in death on July 17, 1996.

She is survived by two sons, William (Kay) Buchanan of Lexington and Robert (Kathy) Buchanan of Richmond; daughter, Debby Buchanan of St. Joseph; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Imogene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Gerald Sandy, Elvin Sandy, and Samuel Sandy; and three sisters, Genevieve Herring, Dorothy Kassen, and Vivian Sandy.  

She was reared and educated in Rockingham.

She was a great housewife and she loved to cook. 

Imogene was also survived by her furry companion Sophie. The family suggests donations in her memory be made to the Ray County Humane Society, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
