Glenn William Barks, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 24, 2022, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  
 
He was born Sept. 24, 1932, in Cape Girardeau to William McKinley and Bess Gholson Barks. He and Donna June Allen were married Aug. 13, 1960, in Richmond, Missouri. 
 
Glenn was a graduate of the University of Missouri in 1954. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. During that time, he was stationed in Japan. 
Glenn was a co-owner of Barks and O’Neal Equipment Co., manager-partner of Sikeston Livestock Feeders, farm manager for EB Gee Co., and supervisor for Missouri Agriculture Statistics. When most people were ending their careers, he began an additional career appraising farm equipment, which continued until 2021. Glenn’s lifelong interest was all things related to livestock and farming. 
 
He had been a member of Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church in Sikeston, Missouri, for 50 years. He served as deacon, elder and Sunday school teacher. Glenn currently was a member of First Christian Church in Sikeston. He was president of the Sikeston Gideon Camp for 20 years. 
 
He is survived by his wife, Donna; a daughter, Sarah Barks of Cape Girardeau; a son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Pam Barks of Webster Groves, Missouri; two grandchildren, Haleigh and Tyler Barks of Webster Groves; a sister, Margaret Guthrie of Columbia, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Petra Allen of Land-O-Lakes, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He had many friends and enjoyed drinking coffee with them. 
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother (in infancy), Donnell Barks; and brothers-in-law, Franc Guthrie and Bob Allen. 

A memorial service will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the First Christian Church in Sikeston with the Rev. Jason Williams officiating.

The family will receive friends in the Family Life Center following the service.

Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery Bloomfield in Bloomfield, Missouri.
