Elizabeth Jean Greenlee died peacefully Sept. 13, 2022, at her home. All who know her well, which it seems is much of the Richmond, MO population, know her only as “Jean”. A life-long resident of Richmond, she touched the lives of many in her community with her kindness and selfless dedication to helping others.

Jean lived an incredible life in service to her family and community. In addition to a full career at Missouri Public Service, Jean is a past President of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, was the first female member of the Richmond Rotary, and is a two-time recipient of the Rotary’s Paul Harris award. Jean also served a multitude of other civic organizations including the Richmond Economic Development Board, Eagleton Center, and Shirkey Golf Club.

Jean was preceded in death (1992) by her husband of 37 years, Charles “Frog” Greenlee. She is survived by daughter, Vicki (husband Keith); grandson, Craig (wife Christina); and sister, Donna Kolas (husband Bill).

In accordance with her wishes, Jean’s life will be celebrated with a graveside service on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either the Rotary Club of Richmond or the Heart of America Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (cff.org/donate). Memorials can be dropped off or mailed, in care of the family, to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main - P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.  Please remember to share your memories of Jean with the family by visiting thurmanfuneralhome.com.
