Elizabeth Adell Eaton, 86, of Lexington passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024, at her home. Elizabeth was born Nov. 11, 1937, in Lafayette County, the daughter of Fred and Irene (Bush) Mallot. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Sherman Eaton of Lexington on March 20, 1995. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2007. Survivors include her son, Charles (Joanna) Mallot of Wellington; and daughter, Lisa L. (Ralph) Berkstresser of Linn Creek. Other survivors include seven grandchildren: Brittanie R. (Jacob) McGee, Breanna (Markey) Harris, Emily R. (Jesse) McIntosh, Courtney M. (Tyler) James, Tera Berkstresser, Zachary D. Purnell and Macey J. Helms; and nine great-grandchildren: Aryan S. Harris, Knox Harris, Bronx Harris, Kerstyn McGee, Marisa McGee, Cyrus McIntosh, Faramir McIntosh, Cashton Coleman and Holton Coleman.
In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her son, Kevin L. Hedrick-Register; four brothers, Alfred Mallot, Cecil John “C.J.” Mallott, Claudis “Billy” William Mallot and Lewis “Bubby” Irvin Mallot; and four sisters, Frances Mae Hanna, Martha Jeanette Schreier, Mary Georgia Davis and Jannifer Hedrick.
As a dedicated seamstress at Dunbrooke Apparel Corp., and Wentworth Military Academy and College and a devoted homemaker, Elizabeth touched many lives. Known for her exceptional cooking, she delighted loved ones with her famous fruit salad, homemade bread rolls and pea salad.
She enjoyed simple pleasures, including trips to the boat, playing bingo and scratching lottery tickets. A devoted aunt, she spent hours cleaning and frying fish, generously sharing her cooking with everyone.
Elizabeth will be deeply missed by all who loved her. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of her son, Kevin Hedrick-Register. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.
Visitation with funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 1, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m., followed by the services at 2. Interment will be in Lexington Memory Gardens.
