Donald “Don” J. Holman, age 80, of Richmond passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehab in Richmond. Don was born Aug. 25, 1944, the son of Donald Aubrey and Letha Melvine (Green) Holman in Polo. He grew up in Polo, Maysville and Hamilton, and he attended Penney High School. He married Cheryl McCloud on Nov. 25, 1979, in Kansas City.

He was an over-the-road truck driver, and it was a career that he enjoyed. Don was a proud member of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association.

Don will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Cheryl of the home; son, Russell Holman of Lawton, Okla.; and grandson, Sydney Mann of Kansas City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Christ Cupboard Food Pantry in care of the funeral home.

A service celebrating Don’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Polo Christian Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Zimmerman Cemetery, south of Polo.
