The Richmond News, Dec. 8, 2023 Cathy Prichard Wright, 50, born Dec. 1, 1972, left her hard-fought battle with cancer behind on Nov. 29, 2023. Cathy is survived by two sons, Shane Johnson and Mason Wright; and a daughter, Taryn Wright. Cathy was blessed to have been Nana to three grandchildren, Aiden Redman, Elliot Howe and Eloise Howe. Other family members include her mother, Glenda Simms; and three sisters, Julie Cathy Wright Baker, Connie Phipps and Callie Zackula. Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Richard Prichard; and oldest daughter, Kaelyn Howe. Cathy loved sports and shared that love with her children, sometimes on the court, sometimes from the couch. Cathy was a little tougher and stronger than your average woman — she was not a wearer of pink and lace, was not the girl next door, but certainly the girl we wish we had next door.
